Is There Not A Lesson Here For Each Of Us In These Troubled Times From This Anointed Leader?

He was a king and he has become a very famous king, having started out as a shepherd. He also wrote songs which have been sung and sung often for over three thousand years. This is an article on part of one of David’s amazing songs.

In the Old Testament part of the Bible it is called Psalm 9, where King David states, “O Lord, I will praise You with all my heart.” I will not be half-hearted when I praise You. I will not be half hearted, nor stinting, nor stingy, in my devotion and worship and service, and it will come from my heart, and it will be sincere. All of my heart will be in what I sing and say and do.

And Lord, I am going to tell every one about You, and all the wonderful and marvelous things that You are doing. I am going to let all the people know, and there are various ways whereby we can do that.

King David is going to praise God, and he is going to testify to that, and tell the world that His God is the God of miracles and wonders.

David is so full of the joy of the Lord, and the joy of the Lord is his strength.

This is David’s song of praise, and in these opening sentences he packs in so much that is positive and specific.

He is going to praise and tell and be glad and rejoice and sing! These are five might acts.

Verse 3 is some word. Do take time to read through the whole Psalm. This is rich and enriching literature, and remember that it is penned by a king who knew how to lead and who today continues to be recognised as a most powerful leader.

David was chosen by God and anointed by God. David knew his God, and he knew that Almighty God could be depended upon when things got hard and difficult.

He is filled with holy gladness, and at this moment songs of praise are flowing from his heart.

The well from deep within is overflowing and he is bursting forth in praise.

God had maintained his just cause. God has upheld his case. Lord, You saw my work and from Your throne, You have declared that it was good.

No wonder David is singing in his heart, and from his heart, to God. This is not only a song of praise but it is also a song of victory and a song of triumph.

Verses 3 to 5 give us his reasons for praising God.

The enemy had caused destruction, but God had overthrown the enemy, and his Lord had given him rest and peace.

Many people are presently looking for rest and peace and this leader experienced these precious gifts, and all this took place one thousand years before Jesus Christ, the Prince of peace came into our sad and dark and pained world.

Rest and peace are still available and this leader is so willing to share his very real and powerful experience as he acknowledges who was leading him as he led the nation.

Is there not a lesson here for us in these troubled times, from this anointed leader?
